Scripture Only by Rod Parsley

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” Matthew 4:4

Martin Luther, an Augustinian priest, ignited a reformation in 1517 with his public debates.
He was troubled by the abuses of the “indulgence sellers” (those trying to sell God’s forgiveness). Luther believed that the Word of God was the only authority to which sinful man could look to for redemption or for a clear declaration of God’s will.

Today the church is in need of reform. Too many Christians don’t know what the Word of God says. They can quote the words of their favorite evangelist but they can’t quote Scripture. Only the Word of God is laced with power, authority and the ability to bring miracles into existence.

As believers, our motto should be the Bible first, last and always. Paul tells us to test everything against the Word (1 Thessalonians 5:21). How can we truly test everything if we do not know the Scriptures? Take time to study the Word of God-know for yourself what God has said. The Lord said His people perish because of lack of knowledge. Study the Word for yourself!
